The Epic Experience

As the dying hours of 1999 tick away, the world's leaders, their acolytes, pressure groups, journalists and miscellaneous hangers-on gather to discuss progress into the next millennium. Little do the innocent folk of Earth know, though, that all the while sinister plots are being hatched for their undoing...

• WHO holds the key that winds up Big Ben?

All these questions and many, many more will be answered between 2:30 and 6:30 on Friday afternoon, when 24 lucky role-players step forward to play their part on the world's stage as, one wheel hanging drunkenly off, it careers headlong towards midnight and the birth of a new era. Will you be one of the kings, or one of the pawns?
